Dr. Clive R. Spray obtained his B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Hull, U.K. and Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Bath, U.K.
This early phase of Dr. Spray’s career was specifically aimed at the development of novel approaches to cancer treatment as well as new analgesic products based on opiates. A leading pharmaceutical company that acted as a sponsor for his Ph.D. program patented some of the specific chemicals developed during this work.
Dr. Spray then accepted a research position at the University of Bristol, UK, studying the chemical basis for the regulation of plant growth. After one year, Dr. Spray moved to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to continue these studies. At UCLA his research developed into studies on the genetic basis for the regulation of plant growth – in laymen’s terms – genetic modification of crop plants. This period of his career defined a deep interest in natural nutrition.
Dr. Spray’s work on plant growth regulation continued for some 15 years, and then in 1997 he joined a small private nutritional supplement manufacturing company in Phoenix, Arizona, where he was responsible for the development and production of a range of liquid spray vitamins. Over the following 14 years, Dr. Spray added considerably to the liquid spray vitamin product range and he also developed a number of powdered nutritional products. In addition to his development and production duties, Dr. Spray oversaw all aspects of the physical operations of the company.
In August 2011, Dr. Spray and his partner, Mark Rosales, established Spray Labs, LLC in Phoenix, Arizona, where he is now manufacturing high quality nutritional supplements. He has also been able to return to his scientific roots in research and development, and is looking forward to offering new and exciting products to the market.
Dr. Spray was born in Oxford, England, and now holds dual citizenship in both the United States and the U.K. He enjoys the heat and sunshine of Arizona, is an avid gardener, and loves long runs, having participated in many marathons. He has traveled widely and is well known in his field, having friends and colleagues on several continents
